Wisdom Teeth / Extractions

Tooth ExtractionThere’s a not so scientific term for wisdom teeth: They’re troublemakers. When people enter their late teens or early twenties, their wisdom teeth will come in. Wisdom teeth can become impacted and cause steady pain.

How Wisdom Teeth Can Let You Down

  • Emerge in the wrong direction
  • Crowd other teeth
  • Semi-emerge leading to pockets of infection
  • Cause pain or jaw stiffness

If you have pain in the back four corners of your mouth, you should come and see us for a thorough check-up and X-rays. If your wisdom teeth come in smooth and cause no problems, then you’re one of the lucky ones.

If need to have your wisdom teeth taken out, please be assured – it’s a common procedure done comfortably in our office. There is a short recovery time but our specialist or dentist will ensure that your wisdom tooth extraction is relaxed and successful.

Wisdom teeth can cause issues with the teeth next to them. So we usually remove all four teeth in one procedure. It’s cost and time-effective and is a lot easier when it comes to recovery time as well. Why go through the same procedure twice or even three additional times when you can get it done in an afternoon?

Also, it’s not a bad idea to keep up with your regular check-ups if you’re in your late teens and early twenties. The earlier we can spot potential wisdom teeth problems, the easier it is to treat them.

Wisdom teeth can cause pain that comes out of nowhere and never lets up – so contact us as soon as you can – we’ll get you into our office and take care of you.
